Our Story
Emerging from a passion for exploring hidden pockets, Melt stands as a haven where one can seamlessly blend with the landscape, embrace eco-conscious aesthetics, and delve into the rich tapestry of local history. Dubbed as ‘Lucky Valley’ due to the serendipitous gold strike of the 1920s, this two-acre enclave nestled in the Southern Downs region holds the legacy of yesteryear. Once a dwelling for the Elbow Valley cheese factory, this terrain nurtured a tight-knit community sustained by its own locally-crafted dairy delights. The sprawling fields and verdant bushland once cradled vital institutions like the neighbourhood school and the corner store, breathing life into the township.
In the meticulous crafting of Melt, the primary aspiration was to encapsulate the tranquillity of the surroundings. It’s about immersing visitors in an era of uncomplicated existence, where the rhythm of life flowed distinctly from the pulsating vigour of larger towns. As you traverse the myriad pathways snaking through bush and pastures enroute to Melt, envisage the township that flourished here – a tapestry woven with communal spirit, aspirations, and an unshakeable optimism that threaded through every corner of this cherished expanse.
